Farmingdale State College Flying Rams will fly 5 of their 22 college-owned aircraft in a show opening fly-by and racetrack flight path over air show center. This year’s performers are all recent graduates who are now employed by the college working as Certificated Flight Instructors (CFIs). They are building the necessary experience for them to go to airlines while mentoring the next generation of pilots.
The Farmingdale State College Aviation Center is a unique part of the SUNY system and is located only 8 miles from Air Show Center. Farmingdale State College offers a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science – Professional Pilot as well as Aviation Administration. The flight program is accredited by the Aviation Accreditation Board International and operates its own fleet of Piper aircraft.
